Panasonic covers the entire spectrum of cordless phones, but it's at the premium end where its phones really shine. DECT 6.0 Plus phones have many enhancements not found on competitive products.

Sales of Bluetooth cordless phones have taken off. We seldom if ever hear a negative word and users are almost unanimous in describing them as the best cordless phones.

    #2. Panasonic KX-TG6645B

No Bluetooth but otherwise the same features as the KX-TG7600. It's packaged with 5 handsets but that number can be increased or decreased depending on your requirements.

Panasonic is the 10,000 pound gorilla in the cordless phone market. It's the overall market leader and sets the benchmark in terms of innovation. Not just cordless telephone headset jacks, belt clips, rechargeable AAA batteries, backlit keypads, ... but also:

    Long Range Cordless Phones

    Long Range Cordless Phone

Issues with cordless phone range have been around since the first cordless phone was released. DECT 6.0 technology overcame most of the problems, but Panasonic's DECT 6.0 PLUS phones have put the issue to rest. They have up to fifty percent greater range than standard DECT 6.0 phones, but if that's not enough add a range extender. You can then answer calls while visiting neighbors or walking the dog.

    Corded Cordless Phones

Corded cordless phones give the best of both worlds a base unit with a corded handset combined with one or more cordless handsets. The benefits include greater call security and the ability to use your phone during a power outage. Panasonic's KX-TG6672B is the latest and greatest in this department.

    Cordless Wall Phones

Every day thousands of consumers go looking for a genuine wall mount cordless phone and give up in frustration. Panasonic's latest phones address the requirement with a low profile reversible base unit. It's an elegant and simple solution that works well.

    2 Line Cordless Phones

The cost of two line cordless phones has come down and there are dozens on offer. As is usually the case Panasonic is the one to beat. It has several 2 line phones in its range including the top selling Panasonic KX-TG9382T. It's another Bluetooth cordless phone, but there also corded cordless options as well phones that integrate with Microsoft Outlook.

In this niche and others the number one threat to Panasonic's dominance comes from Uniden cordless phones.

    Uniden's Best Cordless Phones

    Waterproof Cordless Phone

Uniden phones have a tough time competing with Panasonic in the generic cordless home phone market. On the other hand when it addresses specific user rquirements the outcome is more often than not one of the best cordless phones. We've identified some examples below:

Waterproof cordless phones - Uniden phones are the benchmark. Look no further.

Amplified cordless Phones - Uniden's Loud and Clear phones are excellent for users requiring 20db - 30db of audio boost. They are also stylish.

Big button cordless phones - attractive phones with great features.

    Two line cordless phones - DECT4066A, DECT4086 and DECT4096.

One of the best things about Uniden DECT 6.0 phones is that the handsets can be mixed and matched on the one system. For example a waterproof handset or Loud and Clear handset can be added to most current models.

    Siemens Cordless Phones

In Europe Siemens cordless phones are the number one brand. While they aren't the cheapest they are almost certainly the coolest. Both in appearance and functionality they blur the line between cell phones and cordless phones. If style is an important consideration Siemen's probably has the best cordless phone for you.

A Siemens cordless phone should be on your short list if you are looking for:

    1. A phone with cool European styling.

    2. A highly configurable cordless phone (like a cell phone).

    3. A VoIP cordless phone.

    Vtech Cordless Phones

    Vtech Cordless Phone

Vtech is the master of manufacturing high volume low cost consumer electronics. Vtech cordless phones are sought out by price sensitive consumers seeking reliable and attractive phones at a sharp price. For these reasons there are thousands of consumers that consider them to be the best cordless phones.

We suspect that Vtech manufactures more cordless phones than any other company. Its factories in southern China are massive and by producing phones that are sold under multiple brand names as well as its own (ATT and Vtech Cordless Phones) it achieves enormous economies of scale.

The Vtech CS6419-x and CS6429-x are popular with consumers looking for a cheap but reliable cordless home phone with the minimum of complexity. There is nothing special about these phones, but they do the job without appearing either unfashionable or cheap.

    Best 4 Line Cordless Phones

For many years Panasonic had no competition in the 4 line cordless phone niche, but it has now been sidelined by a state of the art multi-line cordless phone manufactured by Vtech and sold as the AT&T SB67118 SynJ.

While cordless phones remain popular as home phones they are fighting an up hill battle in the small business market. The top selling 4 line phone systems are no longer cordless phones.

    Cordless Phone Frequencies

Don't agonize over choosing the right cordless phone frequency. The best cordless phones are DECT 6.0 phones. Forget about 2.4 GHz and even 5.8 GHz phones. They have been superseded by DECT 6.0 technology. The only significant exception are EnGenius 900 MHz phones. They are extremely long range commercial cordless phones capable of being used over distances measured in thousands of yards.

In the U.S. DECT phones use the 1.9 GHz frequency. It's a frequency that has been reserved exclusively for voice communication. It virtually eliminates the possibility of interference from WiFi networks and most other electronic devices.

    Summary

There obviously isn't one best cordless phone that's right for everyone. Our recommendation would be to identify the type of the phone that best meets your requirements and then check out the top rated cordless phones in that niche.
